Respite is defined as "relief from duties of care"

For 25 years CRS has been providing respite in Manitoba for families of children and adults with physical and intellectual challenges. CRS listens to the needs of the family, to ensure the respite is enjoyable for the individual and put's you the care provider at ease!

CRS has two ways to access respite...

Office Administered Respite
This is our team approach. We have a pool of workers that have given us their availabilities and then match them with families on a weekly basis. We match families with a variety of workers, this ensures flexibility is achieved. We hire the workers, ensure that they are trained according to our standards and deal with any concerns that may arise. Office Administered Respite often ensures respite hours are continued even through turn-over.

Self Administered Respite
Perhaps you know someone who would like to provide respite for you, we can hire them and provide you with all the administration supports you need. You and your worker are then responsible for planning respites as per hours allotted.

Families are able to access both Self Administered Respite and Office Administered Respite simultaneously. This allows for more flexibility if your Self Administered worker is unavailable for a specific time you need respite!
